Central Catholic’s James Halter Picks up Ohio State Offer

When you receive an offer from Ohio State football, it’s safe to say that you’ve become a national recruit, which is now the case with James Halter.
Following a workout at an Ohio State prospects camp, Halter received word from the Ohio State coaching staff that they were extending him an offer.
This continues what has been a tremendous last couple months for the talented 2027 offensive tackle. Along with Ohio State, Halter has also received offers from Duke, Pitt, Penn State, West Virginia, Indiana, Kentucky, Toledo, North Carolina, Rutgers, Michigan State and NC State.
It’s pretty impressive to consider the talent that Central Catholic will have for the next two seasons on the offensive line with both Halter, 4-star recruit offensive tackle Jimmy Kalis and 2027 guard Jon Sassic, who’s just received offers from Pitt, West Virginia and Syracuse.
Pittsburgh Sports Now had the chance to catch up briefly with Halter to ask him about this latest offer and what this last month has been like for him.
“It’s just been really incredible of how fast everything has happened,” said Halter. “I’m really excited with all of this and so is my family and we’re just trying to stay focused.”
“I went into this offseason and really didn’t know what to expect but I didn’t expect it to be going like this and at this pace, but it’s been great.”
After a great camp and conversation with @TylerBowen, I’m grateful to have received an offer from @OhioStateFB 🌰@Coach_Dickey @mjohnson7672 @CoachLehmeier @timothysasson @PCC_FOOTBALL @wpialsportsnews pic.twitter.com/Jk3lrkDmns

Over the last few days, Halter has received offers from both Duke and Penn State after visiting and taking part in a prospects camp. Halter tells PSN that the thing he’s hearing most from coaches is how much they like his athleticism, which is also what he heard from the Buckeyes staff.
“Overall, it was really a positive experience, and I enjoyed being there,” said Halter. “Coach Bowen was great and I really enjoyed his coaching. He called me and was like we’re going to offer you. I looked at the film again and we really like you.”
In terms of the rest of the summer, Halter tells me that he’s done camping and will just be focusing on the upcoming season at Central Catholic.
While the camping may be done, the offers for Halter will no doubt continue over the upcoming months.
