North Allegheny 2026 defensive back Korry Pitts Jr. had a few Division I offers to select from, but a recent official visit swayed his decision for his future home.

After taking an official visit last week at Monmouth University, Pitts decided to lock in and commit to the Hawks on Tuesday.

“The first thing that led me to commit was their academics and the fact that they offer what I want to study,” Pitts told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “I also really liked the location of the university.”

Another key factor in his decision was his relationship with the coaching staff, including head coach Kevin Callahan.

“The head coach’s college football experience stood out to me — he’s been around the game and knows what it takes. On top of that, the entire coaching staff was excited to see me when I walked through those doors. From the beginning, it felt like home.”

Pitts received an offer from Monmouth on June 10. He also held offers from Arizona State, Miami (OH), Sacramento State, Maine and Towson.

This past fall as a junior, Pitts was a big piece of North Allegheny’s defense in which he led with three interceptions, along with 33 tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, three pass breakups and a blocked punt. He earned Second Team All-Conference honors.

At Monmouth, Pitts will line up at cornerback. He feels he will fit right in on the Hawks’ defense as soon as he gets there.

“I’m one of the most physical corners in Western Pennsylvania right now. I can play press man, off man, catch man, and really any coverage they ask of me. I’m ready to step up at Monmouth University and make an impact,” Pitts said.
