Pitt football has already secured a tight end commitment in the 2026 class from three-star Wyatt Villarreal, but could the Panthers add another commit to that unit?

Two more targets that took Pitt official visits are narrowing down their recruitment and they have included the Panthers.

Four-star Zachery Turner out of Duncanville, Texas has announced his top schools and a decision date, while three-star Javonte Williams from The Bullis School in Maryland is down to three finalists.

When it comes to Williams, Pitt, Maryland and N.C. State make up his final three schools and he visited all three programs on official visits.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Williams has been a Pitt priority target for a while now. Pitt became his first Power Four offer in January and schools like Duke, West Virginia, Indiana, Virginia Tech, Cincinnati, Maryland, Rutgers, N.C. State and others followed suit.

Before his official visit from June 5-7, Williams took trips to Pittsburgh on two separate occasions. Tight ends coach Jacob Bronowski also visited him in person twice, showcasing the Panthers’ high interest in Williams.

247Sports rates him as a high three-star prospect and the No. 18 tight end in the cycle and 10th player out of Maryland.

As for Turner, Pitt is competing for his talents with a handful of elite programs. He is down to Texas, Oklahoma, Miami, Ole Miss, SMU and Pitt. He will announce his commitment on July 12.

While the Panthers face some stiff competition, they did host Turner from June 12-14 on an official visit. He also made stops at Miami, SMU and Oklahoma.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Duncanville High School product originally picked up a Pitt offer back in May of 2024.

Rivals rates him as a four-star recruit, the No. 15 tight end in the class and 41st prospect out of Texas.

The last time Pitt brought in two tight ends in the same recruiting class came in 2021 with Gavin Bartholomew and Jake Renda.
