Where Will Quaker Valley’s Adou Thiero Go in Tonight’s NBA Draft?

Tonight will be a memorable night for former Quaker Valley star basketball player Adou Thiero.
After starring at both Kentucky and Arkansas, Thiero will hear his name called sometime tonight in the 2025 NBA Draft.
The question becomes will Thiero become a first or second round pick? Because of where he’s projected to get selected, depending on which mock draft you’re reading, Thiero will be a late 1st round or early second round pick.
Regardless of where, this will be a tremendous accomplishment for him and a feather in the cap for WPIAL basketball.

After weighing a return to college with staying in the NBA Draft, Adou Thiero has decided to stay in the NBA Draft, according to a report.
The last player from the WPIAL to get selected in the NBA Draft was former Moon High School star Cam Johnson, who was a 2019 1st round pick of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Right after being selected, Johnson was dealt to the Phoenix Suns and is currently a member of the Brooklyn Nets.
Last night, ESPN posted their latest NBA Mock draft and pegged Thiero to be the 5th pick in the 2nd round by the Philadelphia 76ers.
After transferring to Kentucky to join John Calipari at Arkansas, Thiero averaged a career-high 15.1 points and 5.8 rebounds per game this past season. The 6-foot-6, 218 pound forward finished his college career with more than 600 points and 300 rebounds.
"I wouldn't miss on Adou Thiero in this draft..
He can play in a physical game and athletically he's in that one percent..
He's that good and he's a good kid" @CoachCalArk #PMSLive pic.twitter.com/coqTKGddkx

At the NBA Combine, Thiero displayed a 7-foot wingspan and an 8-foot-8 1/2 standing reach. He has signed on with the Klutch Sports Group.
