WPIAL 2025 PG Amir Turner Commits to Local D-II School

WPIAL and Moon High School 2025 point guard Amir Turner won’t go very far to play his collegiate basketball.
On Thursday, Turner announced his commitment to Point Park University, a Division II basketball program located in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh.

The 6-foot-1 Turner earned All-Section Second Team honors as a senior. As a junior, Turner was apart of a Moon team that took home a WPIAL title.
Turner fielded other offers during his recruitment from Lake Erie College and La Roche University.

He joins classmate and 6-5 forward Mikey Santicola to continue their basketball careers to the next level with Santicola committed to Nova Southeastern, a D-II program in the Sunshine State Conference.
Point Park recently made the move from NAIA to D-II for the 2024-25 season as the Pioneers reside in the Mountain East Conference. Point Park went 11-19, 4-16 in conference play last season. Last year’s Point Park team did not boast any WPIAL players.
