Former Pitt basketball forward Blake Hinson will be back in action this summer in the NBA with the Golden State Warriors’ summer league team.

Hinson and the Warriors will compete at the seventh annual California Classic July 5-8 at the Chase Center before heading to Las Vegas for the NBA 2K26 Summer League (July 10-20).

It’s the start of the 6-foot-8 Hinson’s second professional season after spending the 2024-25 campaign with the Warriors’ G League team in Santa Cruz.

Hinson averaged 20.1 points and 5.0 rebounds, along with a league-best 126 threes during his rookie season to help Santa Cruz to a playoff berth. He tied a franchise record with 10 threes and compiled 44 points in a game against the Rip City Remix to clinch a spot in the playoffs.

After going undrafted in 2024, Hinson signed with the Los Angeles Lakers in July, but was waived two months later in September. He then signed an Exhibit 10 contract with Golden State and shortly after joined their G League affiliate.

A Deltona, Fla. native, Hinson put together a strong senior season at Pitt. He averaged 18.8 points per on 45/42/67 shooting splits and added 4.6 rebounds per game. He hit the 20-point mark 14 times and hit 41 points against Louisville.

He earned first-team All-ACC honors as a senior, setting a single-season program record with 110 3-pointers and a single-game program record with nine 3-pointers in a game (against West Virginia).

In two seasons at Pitt, Blake Hinson averaged 16.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and one assist per game.
