RB Sa’Nir Brooks Returns Home, Expresses Love for Pitt

FOX CHAPEL, Pa. — Aliquippa native and 2027 running back recruit Sa’Nir Brooks made the transition a few months ago to attend St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Md.
While he focuses on athletics and academics roughly 300 miles away, he returns home often and that included a stop to compete at the 2025 2Tenths Top 150 Camp on Sunday.
“It was great. I love to always come back, get with the guys and get some work in,” Brooks told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “There’s never a day you don’t want to compete, so it was good to get out here.”
The 5-foot-10, 190-pound Brooks was one of the top running backs during drills showcasing his burst, footwork and some new areas of his game.
“Improvement with my hands and my route running. Definitely wanted to display that today. I feel like I improved a lot since I got down to St. Frances. They helped me out a lot with my hands and route running,” Brooks said.

Brooks holds a handful of Power Four offers and every day at St. Frances, he’s challenged by the competition of other highly touted recruits.
“It’s hard. Every day you got to go in there and you got to grind for what you have and what you want. They going to teach you a lot about being a player in general,” he said.
The direct contact period for 2027 recruits recently opened and Brooks noted the schools that have been forming the best connections so far.
“Definitely got good relationships with Syracuse, Rutgers, Pitt, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan State right now,” he said.
The hometown Pitt Panthers offered in the middle of Brooks’ sophomore season and he has since been building a strong connection with running backs coach Lindsey Lamar.
“I talk to Coach Lamar a lot,” Brooks said. “He’s been telling me a lot about the school how it would be a great fit for me, it’s my type of play style and it being close to home, it would be like being a hometown hero.”
He was in attendance for a game last fall and another gameday visit is certainly a priority for Brooks as Pitt is standing out in his recruitment.
“Just my love for the school. When I was younger, I used to go to the little Panther camp all the time. My first college game was a Pitt game. I love Pitt a lot and definitely considering going there,” Brooks said.
His overall offer sheet stands at Pitt, Wisconsin, Rutgers, Minnesota, Maryland, Michigan State, Syracuse, West Virginia, USF, UMass, Sacramento State, Miami (OH) and Akron. He is regarded as a three-star athlete by Rivals.
