Former Moon star Cam Johnson Dealt to Denver

Former Pitt and North Carolina standout Cam Johnson dropped 34 points in a Brooklyn Nets win over the Charlotte Hornets.

For the second time in his 6-year NBA career, Cam Johnson is one the move.

On the opening day of NBA free agency on Monday night, the former Moon Township star involved in a big trade.

The 29-year-old Johnson was dealt to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for Michael Porter Jr. and a 2032 unprotected first-round pick. For the first time in his career, Porter is playing with a legitimate NBA contender.

Due to his shooting ability and his performance last season, Johnson was a player in demand.

Johnson averaged a career-best, 18.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 57 games, shooting 47.5% from the field and 39% from 3-point range.

After being drafted in the 1st round of the 2019 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns and playing three and a half years there, Johnson was dealt to Brooklyn as part of the Kevin Durant trade.

Now after two and a half seasons with the Nets, Johnson is headed back out West.

Johnson has two years and $44 million left on his current contract.
