Every passing week, Pitt linebacker Kyle Louis is back in the headlines with another preseason honor.

After compiling an ultra impressive 2024 season that led him to become Pitt’s 100th First-Team All-American, Louis is now receiving that recognition heading into the 2025 campaign.

The Walter Camp Football Foundation was the latest to release its 2025 All-America picks and Louis was placed as a First Team selection.

Louis is one of just three linebackers in the country —and one of only two ACC players —named to the first-team defense by the nation’s oldest college football All-America team. He’s joined on the list by standout linebackers Anthony Hill (Texas) and Taurean York (Texas A&M).

The last time Pitt placed a defensive player on a Walter Camp Preseason All-America team was Calijah Kancey in 2022 on the second team.

Following the 2024 season, Louis received All-America honors from Sporting News (first team), Associated Press (second team), CBS Sports (second team), Phil Steele (second team), The Athletic (second team), College Football Network (third team).

Out of all the major All-America lists, the Walter Camp did not include Louis last season, but that has changed heading into his redshirt junior year.

Louis was the first sophomore defensive player at Pitt to earn the First-Team All-American honors since Hugh Green in 1978. It came after a remarkable season in 2024 as he totaled 101 tackles (second-most on team), a team-high 15.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks and four interceptions.

The East Orange, N.J. native was a force all over the field and made impact play after impact play. Pro Football Focus named Louis as one of 10 linebacker names to know for the 2026 NFL Draft.
