The Pitt Panther men’s basketball team will reportedly be getting an official visit from a top player in the Class of 2026.

According to Sam Kayser from @LeagueRDY, 4-star point guard Neiko Mundey has scheduled a visit to Pitt at the end of August.

Mundey is a 6′-3″ guard from Shabach Christian HS in Landover, Maryland and is rated as one of the Top 100 overall players in the Class of 2026. 247 Sports has him even higher listing him as a Top 50 player and the No. 2 overall prospect in Maryland.

At this stage of his recruitment, Mundey holds offers from Pitt, Florida State, Illinois, Louisville, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Syracuse, South Florida, Texas Tech, Villanova, Wake Forest and West Virginia.

Kayser is reporting that Mundey has scheduled an official visit to Pitt for the weekend of August 30th. After that, he will travel to Mississippi State (September 6th) and out to Oklahoma State (September 28th).

This past weekend, Pitt HC Jeff Capel was at the DMV Hoops Live event to watch Mundey in person.

Kayser describes Mundey as “an athletic guard with serious burst and explosiveness. Excels with the ball in his hands and can score it from all over the floor.”

The Pitt coaching staff formally extended an offer to Mundey back on May 19th.

Pitt is looking for their first commitment for the Class of 2026.
