Pitt All 105 is a Pittsburgh Sports Now series profiling each member of the Pitt 2025 training camp roster. In order to prepare for Pitt football’s 2025 season, PSN is breaking down every player on the roster in alphabetical order. Next up is offensive lineman Jiavani Cooley.

Offensive lineman Jiavani Cooley enters his second season at Pitt as a redshirt freshman with potential to see the field.

Height: 6-foot-4
Weight: 290 pounds
Hometown: Erie, Pa.

2024: Out of Cathedral Prep High School, Cooley spent his first season at Pitt redshirting as he did not see any game action.

Camp outlook: As the second-team unit on the offensive line is still up for grabs in most spots, Cooley will press for a spot during fall camp at offensive tackle. In the spring, he started with the 3s and as some injuries stacked up, he moved in with the second unit at right tackle.

Projected role: Pitt has three primary offensive tackles with Ryan Baer, Jeff Persi and Kendall Stanley. From there, everything is open at the moment with a few linemen leaving for the transfer portal this offseason. That has left an avenue for Cooley to jump into a role and potentially compete for a spot on the two-deep roster.

He will battle with the likes of Mason Lindsay and freshmen Akram Elnagmi and Jordan Fields.

Cooley has the size and skill, now it’s a matter of transitioning into a reliable offensive lineman who has the chance to see the field for Pitt this season.

A quote about Cooley: “Played both ways for them up there, obviously he’s an offensive lineman — offensive tackle,” Narduzzi said about Cooley back on National Signing Day for the 2024 class. “All-State guy. That, again, is just a big, rangy guy. And after we offered him, it didn’t take long for him to say, I’m coming to Pittsburgh. I mean, he came down with his mom and some family members as well. But he’s laid back like most offensive linemen. But he’s all Pitt, and we’re excited to have him.”
