With Miami involved and slime bag Larranaga I am not surprised. His program has been brought a lot this past week in NYC for pay to play through adidas. They also landed isiah Wong so no doubt Jimmy dipped into the pocket book and paid these guys. Makes the whole college sports following frustrating.

If you play a week 0 game and then advance to the state championship, you play how many games now? 18?

Comment on Saunders: To Fix WPIAL Football, Focus on the Wins by George https://pittsburghsportsnow.com/2018/10/18/saunders-to-fix-wpial-football-focus-on-the-wins/#comment-13266 Thu, 18 Oct 2018 23:58:07 +0000 https://pittsburghsportsnow.com/?p=52509#comment-13266 The WPIAL could schedule games by looking at how many wins a team has in the two year cycle . Why not break it down into thirds. Let the bottom third teams play each other. The top third play the rest of the top third, and the middle third play the rest of the middle third. It could change each cycle. Teams would rather travel 1 and 1/2 hours to play a game that could be competitive than take a 1/2 ride to get beat by 70 points. This would help the down programs get more kids out and keep scores closer, helping those programs stay alive. Mapletown and Avella met with Mr. O’Malley and the board about their teams’ struggles and were disappointed they never got a phone call, text, or email about resolutions/suggestions. Many of the smaller schools feel they don’t get the attention or consideration the bigger and/or more successful schools get. If common sense were used when scheduling, a lot of the problems could be solved. The WPIAL could help and save these programs if they really want to.

Dane Jackson I believe is the best corner since Revis, not as athletic maybe but he can cover. Could be an All Americn next year.

Pitt is in a position to make the ACC ‘s playoff game if they can win their last five games. Sounds funny, but doable.
The defense has improved. They can run the ball. I really do not thing the rest the schedule is that tough. VT is at home. Duke is basketball school. Vir.,WF, U will take great efforts, but doable. What a season this could be.

Both are based on similar factors, quick fixes and failure to develop. Stop with the transfers-in, coach-up kids and you will rid the problem.

I agree that the corner was definitely trying to cut off the slant route that worked on two separate occasions earlier in the game so some creativity (Mathews double move/Hall angle route) may have caught ND off guard. The blitzing MLB was coming in untouched so the decision had to be made quickly. Given the circumstances I think the correct read is getting the ball to your big target (Mathews) who is beyond the sticks.

Go back to Texas where he was relieved of his play calling duties, got the Head Coach fired for his high school play calling. This guy is a fraud and Naz will be the next Coach fired for hiring him.
