“What’s good y’all, it’s Will Jeffress,” he said in a video posted by the Bulldogs. “I’m excited to get down here in Ruston. I’m excited to win a lot of games, make a lot of new memories with my teammates, and just enjoy the ride. Go dogs.”
The grad transfer is a 6-foot-7 Erie, Pennsylvania native. He appeared in 31 games last year for the Panthers, playing just 10.8 minutes per game.
After starting 16 games in the 2021-22 season, Jeffress injured his foot just ahead of the 2022-23 campaign, forcing him to undergo surgery and miss the entire season. He then came back this year and started two games for the Panthers. Jeffress finishes his Pitt career with 192 career points, 197 rebounds, 38 assists, 44 steals, and 22 blocks. The wing shot 20% from three-point range in his tenure at Pitt, going 18 for 90 from deep.
Jeffress and Federiko Federiko — who committed to Texas Tech — were the only two players to leave Pitt this offseason via the transfer portal.
Louisiana Tech plays in Conference USA, and is heading into year three of the Talvin Hester era. Hester turned around the program last season, going from 15-18 in his first year to 22-10 last year.
