WPIAL Star Reaches 1,000-Point Milestone

One of the top basketball players in Western Pennsylvania, Josh Pratt, reached the 1,000-point milestone on Tuesday night.
Pratt plays for Aliquippa, and surpassed the 1,000-point mark in a dominant, 83-29 win over New Brighton. He finished the game with 15 points, according to TribLive.
First play of the game goes to Josh Pratt for 3 as he surpasses 1K career points as a junior. The ceiling for JP is non existing. I think what he’s been doing as a sophomore and junior at Aliquippa deserves the recognition.

Pratt, a member of the class of 2026, is just a junior. He is being recruited by many Division One schools, and told Pittsburgh Sports Now on Wednesday that Northeastern, Robert Morris, and Fairfield are three schools that are recruiting him hardest in his recruitment.
Schools like Liberty, Fairleigh Dickinson, Weber State, La Salle, American, William & Mary, Radford, Columbia, Lafayette, Temple, Northeastern, Hofstra, and Pepperdine. He holds offers from Robert Morris, Northeastern, Pepperdine, and Hofstra so far. Earlier this season, he took his first official visit, checking out Northeastern in November. His brother, LA Pratt, plays for Northeastern currently. This year, he is averaging a career-best 10.8 points per game.
Pratt began his high-school career at Lincoln Park.
“I didn’t play my freshman year at all at Lincoln Park, so now look a year later and I have three D-1 offers, Pratt told PSN’s Nathan Breisinger in an interview. “It just goes to show how great God is and how he has a plan for everybody no matter where you start, so just keep trusting him and building that relationship with him and everything will fall into place.”
When the high school season rolls back around, Pratt continues to thrive in a floor general role for the ‘Quips.
“I love the role,” Pratt said. “Everybody has really relied on me and trusts that when a bucket is needed, they can depend on me to deliver. I’m looking forward to that role this year and the years to come. I wouldn’t want any other role because I feel like I’m at my best when scoring.”
