Following a loss to Wake Forest in front of a sold-out arena on Saturday, Duke’s Kyle Filipowski injured his ankle while the excited Demon Deacon fans stormed the court.

Filipowski had 17 points, eight rebounds, and five assists in the loss to Wake Forest.

After the incident, Duke head coach Jon Scheyer made a call to ban court storming as a whole after seeing his star player go down with an injury.

Duke lost the game 83-79, falling to 21-6 on the season and 12-4 in ACC play. After grabbing a rebound in the final seconds, Duke had a chance to tie the game or take the lead with time winding down. However, the Blue Devils’ Tyrese Proctor passed the ball off Filipowski’s hands, resulting in a turnover and giving the ball bake to the Demon Deacons, who sealed the game with a pair of free throws.
