Five Star Meleek Thomas Trims List to Seven: Is Pitt In?

Five-star guard Meleek Thomas took an official visit to UConn and head coach Dan Hurley over the weekend.

We’ve got another update in the jam-packed recruitment of Meleek Thomas.

On Tuesday, On3’s Joe Tipton reported that Meleek Thomas trimmed his list down to seven schools to focus on in his recruitment.

Thomas cut his list to the following schools: UConn, Kansas, Alabama, Pitt, Auburn, Kansas State, and Arkansas.

The highly-touted guard won back-to-back WPIAL and PIAA titles this past high-school season as a sophomore and junior at Lincoln Park, averaging 22.7 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. He has been a significant Pitt target since early in his high school career and has been to numerous games over the past few seasons alongside former teammate and current Pitt guard Brandin Cummings.

You may remember that Thomas, who is ranked No. 6 in the nation by the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, released a top-12 schools list back in September 2023 that included the following programs: Duke, Kentucky, Indiana, Kansas, Kansas State, Miami, Villanova, Pitt, Tennessee, UConn, Michigan, and Auburn.

He has now trimmed that list and excluded Duke, Kentucky, Michigan, Tennessee, Villanova, and Miami from his initial group. Arkansas, now coached by John Calipari, is now in the mix.

Thomas is now playing for Overtime Elite in Atlanta, Georgia, and will not play for Lincoln Park this season.
