Notre Dame’s famous “ND,” that is.

The Fighting Irish, led by second-year head coach Micah Shrewsberry who took Penn State to the NCAA Tournament in 2022-23, find themselves atop the rankings after a massive month of September. Shrewsberry and his Notre Dame staff landed four recruits in the month of September, including the highest-ranked recruit in program history.

It all started with a commitment from Brady Koehler, a 6-foot-8 four-star wing out of Cathedral in Indianapolis, Indiana. Then came the commitment of Jalen Haralson, a consensus top-15 player in the senior class and a five-star prospect. Haralson is a 6-foot-7 small forward. ESPN ranks him as the No. 10 overall player in the senior class.

“This decision was very hard, took a long time. But, I’ll be taking my talents to..” Haralson said live on 247 Sports’ YouTube channel before unzipping his jacket to reveal a Notre Dame shirt.

Notre Dame also landed four-star Ryder Frost, the No. 97 player in the class of 2025, just days after Haralson committed. Then, on the final day of September, the Irish landed Tommy Ahneman, a 6-foot-10 center ranked just outside of the top-100 by 247 Sports.

The Irish hold the No. 1 overall spot on 247’s recruiting class rankings, followed by Iowa State, Butler, Marquette, Kentucky, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Alabama, and Xavier.

Pitt currently holds one commitment in the 2025 class with Omari Witherspoon verbally pledged to the program. Witherspoon is ranked by 247 as a four-star prospect and the No. 104 player in the nation.
