Pitt in the Pros
Former Pitt Star MJ Devonshire Waived By Carolina

Former Pitt star defensive back MJ Devonshire’s quest to stick on an NFL roster is on hold.
After getting claimed in the off-season by the Carolina Panthers from the Las Vegas Raiders, Devonshire has been waived by the Panthers, with an injury designation.
After releasing Devonshire, Carolina signed cornerback Mello Dotson, who was cut earlier this week by Las Vegas.
No word yet on the exact injury that Devonshire is dealing with.
The talented cornerback from Aliquippa High School was selected in the 7th Round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Raiders and spent the season on the Raiders practice squad.
Devonshire did not appear in any games last season with Las Vegas.
After signing a futures contract with Las Vegas after the season, they made the decision to waive him afterwards, which allowed Carolina to claim him.
