Pat Narduzzi Issues Statement Following Postgame ‘Talent’ Quote

Published

on

During his long tenure as head coach at Pitt, Pat Narduzzi has said a lot of interesting comments but following today’s clobbering by Notre Dame, he seemed to outdo himself.

A tweet was issued by the Post-Gazette’s Noah Hiles showing Narduzzi seemingly questioning the talent on his roster.

As you can imagine after seeing this, the players on his roster seemed shocked and outraged by it.

Narduzzi obviously was informed of what his players are saying and immediately released a tweet of his own. We should point out and show you the entire comment from Narduzzi.

While the original quote was taken a bit out of context, keep in mind, Narduzzi did indeed question the talent on this 2023 roster, which was his main point to the question asked of him. He finished it by using the common line said by ALL head coaches, “It starts with me…. Put it on me.”

Is that the way Narduzzi really feels? Will this evening tweet smooth things over with his players?

We really won’t get the answer to these questions until after the season and see how many players choose to enter the transfer portal.

Unfortunately for Pitt football, this story isn’t over with yet.
