Pitt added a player to their 2024 roster as they received a commitment from Eastern Michigan transfer defensive back Josh McCarty.
Pat Narduzzi extended McCarty an offer back on April 24th. McCarty also received offers from Miami Florida, Houston and Marshall.

McCarty is a defensive back but made his name at Eastern Michigan as a special teams standout. The scouting report on McCarty is his speed allows him to get off the line quick and get to the ball.
McCarty spent five seasons with Eastern Michigan before making the decision to enter the portal. He has one season of athletic eligibility remaining.
The last two seasons, he collected a combined 25 tackles. He came into last season as a preseason second team All-American (special teams) and his 12 tackles ranked as the most in the country. McCarty led the MAC in special teams snaps and had a PFF grade of 80.9.
