ACC Wraparound: Big Wins With Pitt on the Bye Week

Published

on

New ACC football team California posted a video painting the conference's logo on its football field last week, and it's gone viral. Florida State.

Pitt had the weekend off, so while the Panthers didn’t have a chance to rise or fall, the ACC is continuing to set itself up for the second half of the season.

No. 10 Clemson continued its winning streak in the conference, as did No. 6 Miami and No. 21 SMU. Pitt, along with Clemson, Miami and SMU, are the last remaining unbeaten teams in conference play. Pitt and Miami are the only unbeaten teams — overall — in the conference.

Duke won its first game against Florida State, snapping a 22-game losing streak, and Cal suffered another one-score loss to remain winless in the conference.

Pitt, Syracuse and North Carolina had the weekend off, with the Panthers and the Orange meeting on Thursday night at Acrisure Stadium.

Pitt controls its own destiny in the conference, sitting at No. 20 in the most recent AP Poll and remaining undefeated in conference play. And the Panthers will take on SMU and Clemson this season, both of which will have end-of-season implications.
