Pitt FB Recruiting
2026 Tennessee QB Briggs Cherry Visiting Pitt Saturday

This Saturday will be an exciting day at Acrisure Stadium as the Pitt Panthers will return home as the No. 22 ranked team in the country and look to improve their record to 6-0 for the first time since 1982.
Panther fans and potential recruits will have the opportunity to watch this high-powered offense led by quarterback Eli Holstein.
Pitt will be hosting an interesting high school recruit that’s excited to see this offense in person and continue to develop his relationship with the coaching staff.
Briggs Cherry (6-foot-4, 215 pounds) is a 2026 three-star quarterback that will be traveling to Pittsburgh from Chattanooga, Tenn.
At this stage of his recruitment, Cherry holds Power Four offers from Pitt, Georgia Tech and Ole Miss.
“I chose this weekend to come up to Pitt because they have been showing love to me for the past few months with messages and mail,” Cherry told PSN. “Also, they are going into this game 5 and 0 and still rolling. I thought coming to this game would be special to me because Cal has a good defense and Pittsburghs offense has continuously been showing out and I wanted to see that happen again.”
Cherry says he appreciates the effort that the Pitt staff has put into recruiting him and that starts with offensive coordinator Kade Bell.
“My relationship with the Pitt staff is continuously improving. I get to talk on the phone with Coach Bell pretty often,” said Cherry. “I’ve gotten handwritten messages from almost every coach on the staff, and that means a lot. Their season has been going well, and I would love to see their record bump to 6-0. Their quarterback play has been very solid this year so far.

“I love the offense that Coach Bell runs. He spreads the ball around the field to his playmakers and lets them make plays. It is definitely an offense that I could see myself in.”
Cherry also told PSN that he’s looking forward to seeing the city of Pittsburgh and see the atmosphere of the game and how the town is like on a GameDay in Pittsburgh.
