Die-Hards: Making Sense of Pitt’s Late Recruiting Moves

Published

Pitt’s recruiting for the Class of 2019 in the final month has been pretty slow.

The Panthers and head coach Pat Narduzzi have still been working hard on Aliquippa cornerback M.J. Devonshire, who will make his decision live on Pittsburgh Sports Now on Wednesday at 9 a.m.

Pitt also landed Michigan graduate transfer offensive tackle Nolan Ulizio and is in line to receive visits from former Rutgers tight end Nakia Griffin-Stewart and Virginia Tech wide receiver Eric Kumah, but that’s been about the extent of the serious recruiting the Panthers have been doing and it’s fairly evident they aren’t going to take many more players before the class is full in Narduzzi’s eyes.

All of that made Saturday’s news that Pitt had received a commitment from two-star Syracuse, New York linebacker SirVocea Dennis all the more unusual.
