Throughout last season, Pitt freshmen Jaland Lowe and Bub Carrington caught the eyes of many people around the country with their stellar play as rookies.
However, the Panthers also brought in two other recruits prior to last season as part of the 2023 recruiting class — Papa Amadou Kante and Marlon Barnes Jr. On September 6, Amadou Kante suffered a non-contact knee injury that sidelined him for the entire season. Barnes Jr. was healthy, but decided along with the team that he would redshirt his first year in the Steel City.
