PITTSBURGH — Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi moved into third place on the program’s all-time wins with the victory over Virginia Tech on Saturday.
The win is Narduzzi’s 57th since starting as head coach for the Panthers in 2015. This puts him over former Panthers head coach, Jon Michelosen’s 56 wins from 1955-65.
He is still currently behind legendary head coach Pop Warner in second place. Warner won 60 times in 76 games coached from 1915-23.
He is even farther behind Jock Sutherland, who led Pitt to 111 wins in 143 games from 1924-1938.
In terms of games coached, Narduzzi will move ahead of Walt Harris with 97 games at the helm after the North Carolina game on Oct. 29.
I don’t like Big Ten smash mouth football but Duzz does. Congratulations Coach.
