WASHINGTON — Bub Carrington has high expectations for his former team this year.

Carrington, now playing for the NBA’s Washington Wizards, is preparing for his first NBA game Thursday night. In the meantime, I asked him about Pitt’s current team, and specifically, his back court mate from last year, Jaland Lowe.

“I expect a lot, and I’ve been talking to him about it as well. He’s got some big shoes to fill. Tell him I said that,” Carrington said, laughing. “I expect a lot from him. I know he’s going to come through.”

“I expect a lot from Pitt, too,” he continued. “I think they’re going to make it pretty far in the tournament. Definitely an ACC championship, for sure.”

Carrington is making his NBA debut tonight at 7 PM at capital one Arena against the reigning champion Celtics. He broke down his time so far in the NBA, talked about what he has learned from his coaches as well as Jeff Capel, and also talked about Jaland Lowe and this year‘s Pitt team. Check out the video of the press conference below.

Carrington started 33 games for Pitt as a rookie, averaging 13.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. The Baltimore, Maryland native shot 41% from the field and 32% from three-point range in his freshman campaign, and alongside Jaland Lowe and Ishmael Leggett, starred for the Panthers in the back court.
