Less than a week after nearly upsetting Alabama in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, Robert Morris lost its entire starting-five from its Horizon League Championship roster to the transfer portal including All-Horizon Second-Team guard Kam Woods.

Since he entered the portal, Woods has heard from a long list of potential suitors including multiple power-four programs, he confirmed to our partners over at The Portal Report.

When Woods entered the transfer portal, he stated that a return to Robert Morris was “still a top option” and that “(Coach Andy) Toole will still be in touch with my agent during this process.”

It is unknown if Robert Morris still has a chance to retain Woods especially with the schools that are now connected to him.

Those schools include Pittsburgh, Duquesne, San Diego State, Wichita State, Texas A&M, VCU, George Mason, UAB, Cincinnati, Kent State, Loyola Chicago, Charlotte and Ole Miss.

Woods excelled in his lone season at Robert Morris as he was a second-team All-Horizon selection this past year. He averaged 14.9 points and 5.2 assists for the Colonials and was a key competent in their Horizon League Championship run.

Woods just wrapped up his fifth collegiate season for his fifth different program. Coming into the year, he and everyone else presumed it would be his last season in college but after a new ruling granted players that played JUCO basketball another year of eligibility, Woods has the chance to play for six different teams in six years.

Both Pitt and Duquesne are in need of guard talent and have been connected to multiple potential prospects in the transfer portal.

While the Dukes have yet to pick up a transfer portal commitment this offseason, the Panthers secured commitments from two former Iowa State players.

Neither of the Panthers’ portal additions to this point can play the point guard position so they still a replacement for Jaland Lowe who transferred to Kentucky. A commitment from Kam Woods could definitely solve some of the Panthers backcourt problems as he was the primary ball handler for the Colonials this past season.
