Pittsburgh Sports Now just confirmed that Pitt’s guest list for this weekend’s Junior Day has a REAL big player added to it.
2018 Pine-Richland quarterback Phil Jurkovec, possibly the #1 overall quarterback prospect in the country, will be on campus this weekend.
“I’m excited for the visit to Pitt and I’m looking forward to seeing the facilities, talking to the coaches and also watching a good basketball game (Pitt vs. Duke).
Despite only being a sophomore, Jurkovec (6-5, 190) already has offers from Pitt, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Temple, Tennessee, UCLA, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
Anytime they can, it’s important for Pitt to get a recruit like Jurkovec on campus and try to build their relationship.
“I have a pretty good relationship with the coaches at Pitt and they’ve made it clear that they want me (to play for Pitt)”, said Jurkovec.
Jurkovec told me that he was impressed with Pitt’s 2016 recruiting class and the amount of talent they got from the WPIAL and from outside the state.
Aside from this weekend, Jurkovec couldn’t name any other upcoming visits that he has planned.
“I’m not sure as of now. My main focus is on basketball as we play for the WPIAL championship on Saturday.”
