The biggest WPIAL recruiting chip for the Class of 2018 has decided to end his recruiting and commit to one of the biggest names in college football.

Pine-Richland 2018 quarterback Phil Jurkovec announced while he was on a visit to South Bend, that he’s going to attend Notre Dame.

Jurkovec told 24/7 Sports that he went to South Bend with the intention of committing.

Jurkovec is the #1 ranked dual-threat quarterback in the Class of 2018 and had offers from every major program in the country.  This is obviously disappointing news to Pitt but it shouldn’t come as a surprise.  From the time Notre Dame assistant coach Mike Sanford started recruiting and eventually offering him, Jurkovec didn’t hide his feelings for the Notre Dame football program.

This is the 3rd major prospect that Notre Dame has gotten from the WPIAL in the last couple of months:  Jurkovec,  Central Catholic linebacker David Adams and Central Catholic defensive tackle Kurt Hinish.
