Pitt Football / Hoops Notes

The Pitt football team held their second scrimmage of the fall this morning at Heinz Field. Due to the fact that the Pitt football program has this on lockdown from virtually everyone, it’s NEARLY impossible to get any sort of information from it (I’d like to do a commentary about that, but I’ll refrain).

However, according to my Pitt sources, there were a few individuals who looked good today.

** RB James Conner ran really well.

** Wide receivers that stood out were Jester Weah and Quadree Henderson. These two players have consistently been running with Pitt’s 1st team and look to be good bets to keep those roles.

** Two players on the defense that looked good were Dewayne Hendrix and Jordan Whitehead. Hendrix is my choice to be Pitt’s best defensive player this season.

UPDATE (1:41 PM)-

** Some basketball news, Pitt is hosting a player today and this same player will visit Duquesne next week. 2017 SG Matt Turner (NY Lightning AAU) is on campus today. Turner is a 3-star guard but isn’t being heavily recruited holding offers from Rutgers, Seton Hall, St. Louis, St. Joes and Duquesne. To this point, Turner doesn’t have an offer from Pitt.

UPDATE (4:49 PM)-

** According to Pat Lawless from GiveNGo, Pitt has extended to an offer to 2017 SG Matt Turner, who’s visiting Pitt today. We hope to talk to Turner later today.
