Better late than never.
Pitt, coming off a record-setting victory over Syracuse at Heinz Field, have finally cracked the AP Top 25 on the last week of the regular season.
The Panthers, who find themselves tied with South Florida for 24th in the nation, were among 6 teams to enter the AP Top 25 this week after a tumultuous few days of college football. #24 Tennesee, #23 Washington State, #22 Texas A&M, #21 Utah, #20 Boise State and #18 Houston all lost.
Also entering the top 25 with the Panthers and South Florida were #17 Stanford, #19 Virginia Tech, #20 Navy, and #22 Iowa.
The Panthers, boast wins over two top 10 teams (Clemson and Penn State) and have won their last three games.
While Pitt were able to crack the AP Poll; the Amway Coaches poll has the Panthers just outside the top 25, behind Boise State and Houston among teams “also receiving votes”.
This is the first time the Panthers have been in the AP Top 25 since weeks 7 and 8 last year.
