The Pitt football program continues to look for a running back to add to their 2018 recruiting class.

Last month, the Panthers lost out on Virginia’s Cole Beck. Could they be pursuing another back from that state?

Justin Bell is a senior from Colgan High School in  Manassas, Virginia and this Thursday he’ll be in town for the game vs. North Carolina.

Bell (5-foot-8, 165 pounds) has been in contact with coaches from Pitt going back to the spring but Pitt hasn’t offered yet. In fact, Bell is still looking for that elusive first offer. Could it come from Pitt?

This evening, PSN spoke to Bell about Pitt and his upcoming visit.

“I’ve been talking with Pitt since the spring of last year ever since I started going to different schools for camps. Then a couple of months later, we started e-mailing back and forth with Coach Sherman, who’s my recruiting coach,” said Bell.

”I’ve also talked with Coach Powell, who told me that he liked what he saw from me.”

Bell describes himself as a speed back but also as someone who can deliver and not afraid to take a hit.

Since he’s been in conversation with them for awhile, I asked Bell what stands out most to him about Pitt.

”The one thing I really like about Pitt is the constant communication that they’ve had with me. Other schools have been slow to respond but Pitt has kept in contact by always talking to me,” said Bell.

The talented senior back is looking forward to watching the game at Heinz Field and is quietly hoping that this trip could result in that first offer   .

“It would be that first offer and once you get one it would be such a relief off of my shoulders. I’m really hoping I can get one really soon.”
