Pitt Offers 5-Star Running Back Marshawn Lloyd

The Pitt football program had success recruiting at DeMatha High School last year by landing defensive end John Morgan and cornerback Judson Tallandier.

They’re hoping that a pipeline can be established with that talent rich school and can eventually bring them another huge player from the school.

Last night, Pitt threw their hat in the ring and extended an offer to 2020 5-star running back Marshawn Lloyd from DeMatha in Hyattsville, Maryland. The 5-foot-10, 200-pound back also holds offers from Penn State, Michigan, Maryland, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Kentucky, Rutgers and Boston College.

Lloyd is just the second 5-star prospect in the 2019 and 2020 Classes to receive an offer from Pitt, joining 2019 running back Devyn Ford (Stafford, Virginia) and 2019 cornerback Chris Steele (Bellflower, California).

Does Pitt have any chance of trying to land this big-time talent?

It’s probably too early to answer that but keep in mind that Pitt running backs coach Andre Powell has a great reputation in the DC area and was instrumental in landing 4-star Mychale Salahuddin from H.D. Woodson in Washington DC.
