Pitt has a strong history of recruiting the Fort Lauderdale area and this morning Pat Narduzzi offered a scholarship to one of the top lineman in that region.

Charlie Partridge delivered the news to Kaleb Boateng, a 2019 3-star offensive tackle from Fort Lauderdale High School, that he had an offer from Pitt.

“I was pretty excited to get the news. One reason is I was talking to one of my friends Nik Ognenovic from Cardinal Gibbons last weekend about Pitt so I was interested in getting one. Plus, I saw when they beat Miami,” Boateng said.

“I’ve been talking with Pitt since the end of last season probably November. I was kind of expecting an offer but in my head I just thought that my work on the field would show itself. I worked hard and just believed that they’d come through.

”Actually, Coach Partridge stopped by last week and said that they were really interested and was saying he’s really like me to come visit this summer. So I was really waiting and then he texted me yesterday and then this morning he called and said I have some good news for you.”

Boateng (6-5, 298) adds his Pitt offer to an impressive sheet that includes offers from Purdue, Boston College, Indiana, Louisville and Maryland. It is clear he is a player that is in demand so I asked him what he thinks coaches like when they watch his tape.

”I’d say it’s my footwork and movement for my size. Also, my body frame. I’m 298 right now and my frame is pretty lean, it’s not bad weight,” he said.

Boateng is the 52nd junior and 15th player from Fort Lauderdale that Pitt has offered in this class.
