Busy Day of Recruiting News for Pitt and Robert Morris

Yesterday was a big day in basketball recruiting as the dead/no-contact period was lifted with sophomore prospects.

That meant college basketball staffs from across the country were out making contact with players in the Class of 2020.

The staffs at Pitt and Robert Morris were particularly active. In fact, Andy Toole extended offers to five players.

Jeff Capel and his assistants made contact with some elite talent and extended one offer.

Here’s a recap of some of what we gathered:

PLAYERS PITT CONTACTED:

**Jabri Abdur-Rahim: 2020 5-Star forward from Blair Academy in West Orange, New Jersey. Ranked as a Top 20 player with 26+ offers.

**Elijah Woods: 2020 4-Star point guard from Potomac, Maryland. Ranked as Top 70 player with 20+ offers. Milan Brown reached out to Woods.

**Mark Williams: 2020 4-Star forward from Norfolk, Virginia. Williams (6-10, 195) received an offer yesterday from Pitt and is ranked as a Top 80 player with 13 offers.

**Elijah Taylor: 2020 forward from Imhotep Institute in Philadelphia. Considered a recruit on the rise.

**Posh Alexander: 2020 4-star point guard from Bronx, New York. Considered a Top 100 recruit.

**Dowar Jioklow: 2020 forward from Virginia.

**Javarzia Belton: 2020 Center (6-10, 240) from Pasadena, California. Holds offer from UNLV. Milan Brown reached out to Belton.

**Andrew Slater of The Athletic reported that 2019 point guard Jalen Gaffney (6-2, 175) from Westtown, Pennsylvania will make an upcoming unofficial visit to Pitt. Gaffney holds offers from Pitt, Florida, Minnesota, Seton Hall and St. John’s.

Andy Toole’s team extended offers to the following 2020 players.

**John Wilson, PG from Brooklyn, New York- Offers from Iona and New Mexico

**Colin Smalls, PG from Upper Marlboro, Maryland- Offers from Stony Brook

**Matt Zona, PF from Oradell, New Jersey- Offers from Rutgers

**Andre Curbelo, PG from Puerto Rico- Offers from Iona, St. John’s, Dayton, Rutgers, Hofstra, Florida International

**Zed Key, SF from Glen Head, New York- Offers from Cincinnati, Iona, UMass, Rutgers and St. Louis
