It appears as though Pitt is in the market for a softball coach.
According to JustinsWorldofSoftball.com, Pitt’s Holly Aprile will be named the next head coach at Louisville.
Louisville is in the market for a coach after long-time coach Sandy Pearsall retired in June. She had been the only coach in Louisville history.
Aprile has been Pitt’s coach since 2009 and last year was named the ACC Coach of the Year. Under Aprile, Pitt made it to the ACC Championship game for the first time, reached the NCAA tournament for the first time (2015) and has four 30+ win seasons.
Prior to becoming head coach at Pitt, Aprile was an assistant at Pitt and at South Carolina for eight years.
No official word from Pitt on this report.
