When Pitt visits Virginia on Friday, the Panthers will face their fourth ranked team of the 2018 season, as the Cavalier moved into the AP Top 25 with a No. 23 ranking on Sunday following their 31-21 win over North Carolina this weekend to improve to 6-2 on the season.

Pitt is 0-3 against ranked teams this season, losing to Penn State at home and Central Florida and Notre Dame on the road. Notre Dame is ranked No. 3 this week, UCF No. 9 and Penn State No. 14.

Clemson remains the highest-ranked team in the ACC at No. 2. NC State dropped from the rankings, while Syracuse (No. 22) and Boston College (No. 24) were ranked for the first time this season.

Virginia is ranked No. 22 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, and for the first time this season, Pitt received three votes in that poll.

Pitt’s game against Virginia will kick off at 7:30 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN 2.
