Huge recruiting news for the Pitt basketball team and Jeff Capel.
Andrew Slater from The Athletic, one of the highest regarded basketball recruiting Insiders, is reporting that 5-star center Kofi Cockburn from Oak Hill Academy, will be making an official visit to Pitt.
Slater tells PSN that, “the official date is being set, but it will be fairly soon.”
Cockburn (6’-10”, 280) is rated by Rivals as one of the Top 30 seniors in the country and holds offers from schools such as Auburn, UConn, Georgetown, Indiana, Miami, Oregon, TCU and UCLA.
I asked Slater how Pitt and Capel have been able to make such an impression with Cockburn.
“Kofi likes Coach Capel and his success with big men. He feels he can be a focal point at Pittsburgh, while playing in the ACC.”
It goes without saying that Cockburn is the type of player that Pitt so desperately need in their lineup.
