After spending months communicating with the Pitt staff over the phone, Kendron Wayman was finally able to talk with them in person.

Wayman traveled from Ridgely, Maryland this weekend in order to make an unofficial visit to Pitt.

“I talk to the Pitt staff a lot,” Wayman told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “I’d say I talk to Coach Powell five times a week and I talk to Coach Partridge as well. I feel like we’ve formed a pretty good relationship.”

“I’d rate my visit to Pitt this weekend as a 10 out of 10. It was just amazing and a really good place to be. What made it so amazing is how the Pitt program just feels like family. Everything about it. I just feel like the coaching staff are people you can look up to and will be able to help me achieve my goals in life, no matter what those goals are.”

During his weekend stay, Wayman pointed out that seeing the Cathedral of Learning was something that really stood out to him. He also enjoyed a face-to-face talk he had with Powell.

“I talked with Coach Powell, who’s been able to get close to my family. We talked about how great Pitt is and also about how things are back home,” said Wayman.

“I can get the feeling that Pitt would like to get a commitment from me. We had a good 10-minute conversation as I was leaving the visit.”

Although Wayman enjoyed the trip, he plans on checking out other schools before making an final decision. This coming weekend, he’ll be making a trip to Wake Forest this weekend and possibly some other schools after that.

As far as a timeline for making a commitment, Wayman says that right now the plan is for him to decide after his high school season.

our recruiting i find very alarming mike ,we’re the only acc school without a commitment so far and after each of these visits the recruits all say the same things we loved the visit but I’m still gonna look around ,that’s where i see that narduzzi is a horrible closer ,you gotta get some of these guys to commit ,i mean the assistants are getting these guys on campus which is a good thing but narduzzi is just a bad recruiter in my opinion
