The Pitt football team entertained their fans yesterday with an exciting win and also made a football recruit happy.

2021 offensive guard David Wohlabaugh (Stow, Ohio) made an unofficial visit and left with an offer, his first from an ACC team.

“It was me, Coach Borbely, Graham Wilbert and Coach Narduzzi,” said Wohlabaugh. “They were all talking with me, my dad and my mom in the locker room as we were getting a tour. After that, Coach Borbely pulled us aside and straight out told me that we’d like to offer you a scholarship.”

”I wasn’t really expecting it because it was out of the blue. When I got it, it was exciting and at the same time, a sense of relief because I’ve been talking to Pitt for a long time now. I attended a game last year too, so it’s kind of been a long process but I finally got it. I’m definitely going to keep in touch with them for sure.”

Wohlabaugh (6’6”, 275) tells me that Borbely complimented him on the film of his his first three games this season and mentioned the improvement he’s made from last year.

”I’d say I’m more of a pass blocker at this point but it’s not like it’s not a big drop off from my pass to run blocking. I just believe my pass blocking is better right now.”

Wohlabaugh, who also holds a Power 5 offer from Kentucky, tells me he’s hearing most from Louisville, Purdue, Indiana, Nebraska and although it’s early, definitely has interest in Narduzzi and Pitt.

”I talked to Coach Narduzzi and he just seems like a genuine guy. He really knows what he’s doing and saw at the game how excited he is for his team and really means what he says.”
