East Allegheny senior wide receiver and defensive back Tyler Padezan has committed to Duquesne, he announced on his Twitter account on Sunday night.
Padezan, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound athlete, picked the Dukes over offers from Albany, Howard, Morgan State, Rhode Island, Saint Francis and William & Mary.
In 2019, Padezan led East Allegheny with 33 receptions for 721 yards and also rushed 16 times for 75 yards. His 11 total touchdowns also paced the Wildcats.
He becomes the first local player to commit to the Dukes for the Class of 2020. Jerry Schmitt’s squad has added a pair of FBS transfers in quarterback Joe Mischler from Ohio and wide receiver Jessie Britt from UMass.
Duquesne is looking to bounce back from a 6-5 2019 season that saw them finish on an 0-3 slide, including a loss to crosstown rival Robert Morris.
