The Pitt basketball staff continues to be active in looking to fill one of their two open scholarships for the 2020-21 season.
On Tuesday, PSN told you about the conversations the staff have had this week with sophomore wing Trey Murphy III and today we have another confirmed name that Pitt has had conversations with.
2020 4-star wing JaDun Michael (Burlington, North Carolina) tells PSN that he’s been in touch with Pitt assistant Jason Capel and that they plan on talking again soon.
Michael (6’5″, 180), who’s ranked by 247 Sports as one of the Top 100 players in the country, became available over the weekend when he was released from his Letter of Intent with Wichita State. When announcing his decision, Michael expressed a desire to play somewhere closer than home because of the recent outbreak of the coronavirus.
“Coach Marshall didn’t have to let me out of my LOI but he did and I truly do appreciate him for that. Due to everything that is going on in the world, I just don’t feel 100% comfortable so far from home.”
As expected, plenty of high major programs have reached out to Michael in an attempt to land him.
From what he understand, Michael will be having another conversation with the Pitt staff today. PSN will have an update to this story once that conversation takes place.
