Jaylen Twyman Named Preseason All-American by Walter Camp Foundation

In what could the first of many preseason award nominations for members of the Pitt football team, Jaylen Twyman has been named to the 2020 Walter Camp Preseason First Team All-American Team.

Twyman is one of the main components of one of the best defensive lines and overall best defenses in the country. Last season, the junior defensive tackle collected 10.5 sacks, 12 tackles for loss and 41 tackles. Twyman became the first Pitt defensive tackle to lead the team in sacks since the great Aaron Donald in 2013.

The breakout performance last season earned Twyman second-team All-American and first-team All-ACC honors, two awards that he should be in contention for again this season.

Despite having the opportunity to get drafted this past April, Twyman elected instead to return to Pitt and will be a part of one of the best defensive fronts in the country.

Defending on how he performs, Twyman could improve his 2021 NFL Pitt Stock as he’s now viewed as a potential 1st or 2nd round pick. Other members of the Panther defense that are being mentioned as 2021 NFL Draft picks are Patrick Jones, Rashad Weaver, Paris Ford and Damar Hamlin.
