PSN Poll Question: Grading Joey Yellen’s First Pitt Start

Published

on

Due to Kenny Pickett’s ankle injury, redshirt freshman Joey Yellen received the opportunity to make his first start for Pitt and all things considered, performed ok.

For the day, Yellen completed 22 of 46 passes for 277 yards, 1 TD, 1 fumble, sacked 3 times and was the victim of a handful of dropped passes. Yellen did a good job of moving the offense but like it’s done all season, they stalled in the red zone. Despite being inside the 20 yard line five times, Pitt was only able to score 1 TD.

In all likelihood, Yellen will get the start this Saturday when Pitt hosts #3 ranked Notre Dame.

Our PSN Poll Question for today is what grade would you give Yellen for his performance against Miami?

Grade the WR’s and the RB’s! That’s the one’s people want to evaluate the butter fingers and sticky feet… Can we grade the Blocking?

Joey kept his head under pressure. Good touch and accuracy.
Needs to get rid of the ball to avoid sacks and build those guns!
There is no excuse for dropping this kid’s passes.
