With a handful of spots left in this years recruiting class, a new senior recruit entered the picture for Pitt.

2021 athlete Malik Verdon (Hamilton, Ohio) received an offer Wednesday night from the Pitt staff. This is interesting because Verdon is already committed to Miami (Ohio).

Prior to committing Miami (Ohio), Verdon (6’4”, 205) held offers from Florida, Iowa State, Kentucky, West Virginia, Liberty, Kent State, Toledo, Ball State, Bowling Green, Central Michigan and Western Michigan.

At the time of his commitment, Verdon told Josh Helmholdt from Rivals, “It’s close, and with all the COVID things going on it’s easier for my family and me. I live with my grandma, so if she gets it and I’m  hours and hours away, it could be a problem.”

Verdon also stated he hoped to visit other schools but that wasn’t possible because of COVID which was another factor.

It’s interesting though that Verdon has visited Pitt before, having done so October 26 of 2019. At the time, Randy Bates expressed Pitt’s interest in him but wanted to see more tape.

Verdon is listed as an athlete because he plays quarterback, wide receiver and defense at Hamilton High School.
