Pitt’s Justin Champagnie Named To Naismith Trophy Midseason Team

Justin Champagnie continues to get national recognition for his superb sophomore season.

Champagnie has been named as one of 30 players to the Naismith Trophy Midseason Team. Earlier this month, the sophomore from New York was named to the Wooden Award Late Season Top 20 Watch List.

In his 13 games played this season, Champagnie is the leading scorer in the ACC with 19.2 points/game, as well as leading the conference in rebounds (12.0) and double-doubles (9).

Other players to be named to this Naismith Trophy Midseason Team are: Jose Alvarado (Georgia Tech), Charles Bassey (Western Kentucky), Jared Butler (Baylor), Marcus Carr (Minnesota), Kofi Cockburn (Illinois), Derek Culver (West Virginia), Cade Cunningham (Oklahoma State), Oscar da Silva (Stanford), Hunter Dickinson (Michigan), Ayo Dosunmu (Illinois), Luke Garza (Iowa), Collin Gillespie (Villanova), Quentin Grimes (Houston), Trayce Jackson-Davis (Indiana), Carlik Jones (Louisville), Corey Kispert (Gonzaga), Cameron Krutwig (Loyola-Chicago), E.J. Liddell (Ohio State), Sandro Mamukelashvilli (Seton Hall), Mac McClung (Texas Tech), Davion Mitchell (Baylor), Evan Mobley (USC), Jeremiah Robinson-Earl (Villanova), Jalen Suggs (Gonzaga), Cameron Thomas (LSU), Drew Timme (Gonzaga), Trevion Williams (Purdue) and Marcus Zegarowski (Creighton).

Champagnie is one of three players from the ACC to make this list as well as one of 11 underclassman.
