The Pitt men’s basketball team has had its eight game of the season postponed or otherwise rescheduled due to COVID-19 issues.
Pitt’s game scheduled for the Petersen Events Center against Clemson on Sunday evening has postponed after a positive COVID-19 test and subsequent contact tracing within the Clemson program. The postponement is the second this week for the Tigers.
Instead, the Panthers will host No. 16 Florida State at The Pete on Saturday. The Panthers and Seminoles will tip off at 4 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh and the rest of the ACC’s regional sports network partners.
It’s the third time the game between Pitt and Florida State has been scheduled. It was first set to be played on Jan. 10 and then again on Feb. 6, but was called off both times due to COVID-19 positive cases.
It’s unclear it the ACC will have Pitt make up the game against the Tigers. The Panthers are also scheduled to visit Clemson on March. 6. Pitt also has games at Boston College, at Duke and at Louisville left to be made up from its original schedule.
