It’s becoming apparent that Pat Narduzzi would like to add at least one more defensive back to his Class of 2022.
A day after offering Georgia defensive back Jordan Buchanan, the Panthers have offered another high school senior. The latest Pitt offer goes to 2022 3-star safety Damani Dent (6’1″, 190) from Terry Parker High School in Jacksonville, Florida. Dent received the news from Cory Sanders, as Pitt joins a handful of schools that have recently offered Dent.

Dent’s recent surge on the recruiting scene is the result of his recent performances at various Florida prospect camps along with what he showed at Saturday Night Live, a top camp at Oregon. In the last week, this rising prospect has received offers from Pitt, Oregon and Michigan, which led to him recently de-committing from Akron.

Pittsburgh Sports Now spoke on Friday morning with Dent about this interest he’s receiving and to get this thoughts on the Pitt Panthers.
“Honestly, I kind of felt and knew that this all would eventually be happening (Power 5 offers),” Dent tells Pittsburgh Sports Now. “This time has been really but I believed that it was going to be happening. I’m not really surprised and I’m just going along with it right now. I think I should coaches that I have versatility, I can play safety and I can move to the nickel and cover the best slot receiver. I also have the ability to move out to cornerback and guard the other teams best wide receiver.”
“Coach Sanders called me and he just loved me. He saw me when I was working out at a camp in Florida. He saw me when I was going in the 7-on-7 part. He told me that he loved how I was communicating and believes that I’m a diamond in the rough and he offered me.”
Dent admits to not knowing a ton about Pitt but one person that he’s familiar with and is a huge fan of is former Panther safety Paris Ford.
Dent said that he expects to be receiving more Power 5 interest now that the season is starting but for now, his entire focus is on his senior season. While no visits have been lined up, Dent tells PSN that “I’m going to take a visit to Pitt most definitely.” He is unsure at this time whether that will be an official or unofficial visit.
