According to Prep Hoops Maryland’s Colby Giacubeno, Pitt head coach Jeff Capel is on the road taking a look at two of the top prospects in Baltimore.

The first of the two mentioned, Carlton Carrington, is a 6-foot-3, 175-pound combo guard who attends St. Frances Academy. Carrington holds offers from Pitt, DePaul, George Mason, George Washington, Rutgers, and Loyola (MD). Back in June, according to Giacubeno, Carrington heard from Pitt within the first few weeks that coaches were allowed to talk to 2023 prospects.

The second prospect, who also attends St. Frances in Baltimore, is one that is more familiar with the Pitt program. Jahnathan Lamothe, who plays his AAU ball for Team Durant, has over 20 offers, including Maryland, Illinois, Pitt, Ohio State, Penn State, and many more. Lamothe is a top-50 prospect in the nation, and visited Pitt over the summer.

“The visit went great,” Lamothe told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “I talked to the coaching staff, got to see around the school, got to see the uniforms, and overall, I liked it. My favorite part was seeing the facilities, talking to Coach Capel, and everything, really. Everything went good for me. I liked it.”
