Class of 2022 wide receiver Camden Brown has decommitted from Pitt, he announced on Twitter on Wednesday evening.

“First and foremost I would love to thank Coach Partridge and Coach Marion for recruiting me and building such amazing bond with me and after a long conversation with my family I decided to De Commit From Pittsburgh University,” Brown wrote on Twitter.

Brown, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound wide receiver from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, had committed to Pitt just after taking his official visit to Pittsburgh back in June.

But the three-star prospect continued to attract other interest, with West Virginia, Colorado, Florida State, South Carolina and Arizona extending him scholarship offers since his commitment.

Brown took an official visit with Florida State on Nov. 13, had an in-home visit with South Carolina this week and has an official visit scheduled to Arizona on Dec. 10.

Without Brown, Pitt’s Class of 2022 now stands at 11 players. Buffalo’s Addison Copeland is the other receiver in the class. Pitt is scheduled to lose Taysir Mack, Melquise Stovall and Tre Tipton from that position to graduation.

Everyone knew this was coming. He was too actively looking and taking visits. I wish him the best but I want guys that want to be here.

This is a big recommitment. This kid is really talented and Pitt needs more receivers next year.
When you have a year like pitt is having you would expect guys to break their commitments to go to Pitt not the other way around.

When a kid says he’s committed and is taking visits to other schools then he was never committed

Unfortunately, this does not surprise me at all. He seemed to be looking around ever since he committed back in June. He seems like the type of kid that likes whoever is giving him the most attention at the moment. Why else would you de-commit from a program that’s fighting for an ACC Championship with a Biletnikoff Award finalist? In the end, I think they’ll be able to get a good WR in the transfer portal for next year or flip another recruit and will be fine.
